Camp Lake Stephens Ambassadors
As the breadth and reach of Camp Lake Stephens grows larger, we are ever in need of more representation and advocation within the local church. It is in our vision, then, to include a new representative of Camp Lake Stephens: the Ambassador.
The Ambassador is a member of a local church who will the primary messenger and spokesperson on behalf of Camp Lake Stephens for their respective church. Camp Lake Stephens will keep the ambassador well-informed and prepared to present their church with current news and information about camp events, activities, and fundraising opportunities for the local church.
We look for ambassadors to:
- Provide their local church dates of youth and older adult events, as well as their respective forms and brochures
-Help coordinate fundraising opportunities within their respective churches with our fundraising coordinator at Camp Lake Stephens
-Keep their church informed as to the progress of our summer camping program, as well as maintain their church's connection with the summer camp by sending church members to camp
-Be an inside source of ideas and insight as to how Camp Lake Stephens can maintain its connectivity to the larger Methodist church.
It is our goal to have an Ambassador in every church in the northern five districts of the Mississippi Annual Conference: Greenwood, New Albany, Senatobia, Starkville, and Tupelo. If there are folks outside of these districts, whether in South Mississippi or a surrounding area, we encourage them to become Ambassadors as well. We have several Ambassadors in place already, and we encourage all who are interested to let us know, and if we have not designated an Ambassador for that particular church yet, we will assign one.
