What’s new about Dare to Lead this year?
A lot! The “old” Dare to Lead used to be a Spiritual Life Retreat each Fall. The “new” Dare to Lead is a retreat for Youth Ministers, Adult Volunteers, and youth group leaders. Dare to Lead is an opportunity for youth across the conference to get together and celebrate their common love in Christ and learn how to expand their youth groups in new ways.
All attendees will have the opportunity to work together with one another to brainstorm on such ideas as: student evangelism, youth group programming, connecting district youth, and helping organize conference youth events.
Speaking this year will be Frank Haynes, the newly appointed director of Ministries with Young People for the Mississippi Annual Conference. During the weekend, youth can also look forward to some fun on the grounds of Camp Lake Stephens, including ropes activities, football, and ultimate frisbee. Set in the beautiful late-fall weather, come to enjoy God’s beautiful creation at Camp Lake Stephens.

Frank Haynes

Speaking at Dare to Lead this year is Frank Haynes, The Mississippi Annual Conference Director of Young People’s Ministries. Frank began work in July 2009, starting to work for the conference office. Frank is a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville and also a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Originally from Mississippi, Frank has a passion for youth. In leading the connections of young people in the Mississippi Annual Conference, Frank hopes to build new bridges between youth groups and youth leaders to help strengthen the church for the years ahead.
We hope that the new Dare to Lead format will be one that appeals to you, your church, and your youth group.
