Sustainable Student Ministry

A weekend for full-time, part-time, and volunteer leaders in youth and children's ministry.

February 13-15, 2009

We are proud to offer a yearly event that is programmed to help youth ministers better equip themselves to give their youth the best possible experience at their respective church. All  ministers- whether full time, part time, volunteer- are welcome at this event.   We encourage any interested to take part in this amazing, transforming experience.

This year, our speaker will be Mark Devries.  Mark DeVries is pastor of youth and families at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has served for the past seventeen years. In addition to authoring several books, includingFamily-Based Youth Ministry and Sustainable Youth Ministry he is founder of Youth Ministry Architects (www.ymarchitects.com), a strategic-planning service for churches facing transitions in their ministries. He and his wife, Susan, live in Nashville.

The weekend will be a time when full-time ministers, part-time leaders, adult volunteers, and any other person involved in student ministry can learn from each other.  There will be roundtable time, where we can engage in ministry topics in a way where we can learn from one another.  Also, there will be worship, structured meditation time, workshops, and the opportunity to renew our conference-wide connections in youth and children's ministry.

Cost for the weekend will be $95, and will cover the cost of lodging, programming, and food.  Both full and partial scholarships will be available, however.  A non-refundable deposit of $45 is due on February 6th.  There will be an early bird of $85 for those who get their registration in by January 30th. For more information or questions, please contact Camp Lake Stephens Program Director Russell Casteel at Russell@camplakestephens.com.  For registration questions, please email cls@camplakestephens.com.
