  • What does it mean for Camp Lake Stephens to be ACA Accredited
To be an ACA Accredited, Camp Lake Stephens takes part in a thorough review of our day-to-day operations every three to five years. This review includes everything from our staff qualifications, our fun and educational camp program, to the health and safety of campers and staff. ACA standards establish guidelines for policies, procedures, and practices at camp. The American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Red Cross to assure all accredited camps reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operations. Camp Lake Stephens is proud to be an ACA accredited camp and participate in their yearly conference.
  • Can My Child bring a Cell Phone or other Electronic Devices?
Please leave all electronic devices at home! This includes cellphones, smart watches, mobile gaming devices (like Nintendo Switch), or any other device with cellular or internet access. Camp offers a rare opportunity for kids to unplug and escape the pressures of the internet. Without these distractions, campers can focus on being fully present in the moment and connect with others in a supportive, loving community. Camp is one of the last places where kids can go without their phones for extended periods, allowing them to truly engage in their surroundings. So, please give your child the gift of a break and leave the cellphone at home! LITs (Leaders in Training) are permitted to have cellphones, but they may only use them on weekends to contact family members.
  • Is My Child Ready for Camp?
Every family's decision on when to send their child to camp is unique! To help guide you, we've created a document with general considerations, available for download at the top of this page. If you have any questions or would like to discuss our camp program in more detail, feel free to call our office at 662-234-3350!
  • What is the Camper Portal?

You can easily access the Camper Portal by following any links on our website that direct you to begin the Registration process. If you need assistance, feel free to contact us at the Camp Office!
  • How many people can I request for a Roommate?
We allow up to two roommate requests per camper. While we do our best to accommodate these requests, we cannot guarantee that all requested roommates will be placed in the same cabin. This approach ensures that every camper has the opportunity to feel part of the larger camp community, rather than sticking solely with pre-existing friendships. Our staff are trained in community building and are excellent at helping all campers feel included and connected within their cabin. Additionally, campers of the same age group spend time together throughout the day, and we'll do our best to help them stay connected during the week, even if they aren't all in the same cabin!

  • How can I see photos during Summer Camps? (Bunk1)
Bunk1 is a website we use to share photos of your camper while at camp and is a service you can choose to use to send letters to them while they are here. Campers can't send you notes back through Bunk1 from Camp Lake Stephens. They can, however, write you letters during downtime, so we encourage you to pack addressed and stamped envelopes in their luggage! Sending letters costs "credits," but photo gallery access is free with our code (which will be shared with you via email prior to your child's session at camp). Sometimes the free option tries to hide from parents, so be sure to close out of any pop-ups and scroll all the way to the bottom!
