Our youngest staff position is Junior Counselor, open to students who have just finished their senior year of high school. Most other staff positions are for college-aged young adults.

Our Summer Staff includes a variety of roles that fall into three main groups: Counselors, Program Staff, and Leadership Staff. Almost every position involves interacting with campers in some way.

• Counselors/Junior Counselors work directly with campers, guiding them through daily activities, building relationships, and caring for their overall experience.

• Program Staff serve in area-specific roles that support different aspects of camp life and activities.

• Leadership Staff also serve in area-specific positions, helping guide and oversee parts of the summer program.

All staff go through Staff Training which is about a two-week period before the first week of camp.

During this time, you’ll learn practical skills for your role, practice leading activities, and receive guidance on camper care, safety, and group management.

You’ll also spend time building community with the rest of the staff and preparing spiritually for the summer ahead.

Camp runs for about 11 weeks total (2 weeks of staff training followed by 9 weeks of camp sessions).

Most sessions are one week long, with campers leaving on Saturday (or Friday for Day Campers) and a new group of campers arriving the following Monday. The only exceptions are our LIT Program and Two-Week Camp, which run for longer.

No! We welcome students from all kinds of academic backgrounds.

While it’s true that many Education majors find camp experience especially valuable, we’ve had staff studying everything from engineering to business to the arts. Everyone brings something different to the table.

What matters most is your heart for serving, your willingness to work hard, and your desire to invest in campers.

Yes! All summer staff positions are paid. The exact amount varies by role.

In addition to pay, staff members receive meals, lodging, and priceless experience in leadership, teamwork, and ministry over the course of the summer.

Yes, staff members are expected to work the full 11 weeks of camp, which includes the first 2 weeks of staff training.

Junior Counselors are required to work at least 5 weeks of camp in addition to the two weeks of training.

Special circumstances and exceptions may be considered at the discretion of our Program Director.

No! You don’t need any previous camp experience to be on staff. We provide training to prepare you for your role, and what matters most is your willingness to serve, learn, and invest in campers.
